The Breeders’ Cup announced its broadcast coverage schedule, post times and wagering menu for the Nov. 1-2 event at Del Mar in Del Mar, Calif. The two-day championship event will be shown live domestically across NBC, Peacock, USA Network and FanDuel TV.
Held for the third time at Del Mar, this year's Breeders' Cup will feature 14 Grade 1 races and more than $34 million in purses and awards.
The $7 million Breeders’ Cup Classic, broadcast live on NBC and streamed live on Peacock, will be the centerpiece of the Saturday program. New this year, to take advantage of the 2 1/2-hour national broadcast window on NBC, post time for the Classic will be 5:41 p.m. EDT. There will be four Breeders' Cup races before and four after the Classic, centering the marquee race as the end of the middle Pick 5 and the start of the late Pick 5 on the wagering menu.
The prospective field is punctuated by 3-year-old stars from three continents, 2023 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) winner and champion 2-year-old male Fierceness, winner of the Travers Stakes (G1) this year; City of Troy, who won the Epsom Derby (G1) and the Juddmonte International Stakes (G1) in Europe; and Japan standout Forever Young, who finished a head back in this year’s Kentucky Derby.
This year’s Breeders’ Cup begins Nov. 1 with future stars Friday, featuring all five Breeders’ Cup races for 2-year-olds. Five undercard races will precede the first Breeders’ Cup race on Friday’s 10-race program, with the first=race post time at 2:35 p.m. EDT.
USA Network and FanDuel TV will televise the Friday action, with USA Network coverage taking place from 4 to 8 p.m. EDT and including two undercard races and four Breeders’ Cup races, concluding with the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at 7:45 p.m. FanDuel TV coverage will begin at 2 p.m. with the first undercard race and will conclude with the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf at 8:25 p.m.
Saturday features nine Breeders’ Cup races on a 12-race card. First post is 1:05 p.m. EDT, with three undercard races preceding the first Breeders’ Cup race, the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile, which will have a post time of 3 p.m. EDT.
USA Network will have coverage Saturday from 12 to 3:30 p.m., followed by 2 1/2 hours on NBC from 3:30 to 6 p.m. EDT. Coverage on NBC concludes with the Breeders’ Cup Classic, and live coverage continues on USA Network from 6-8 p.m. EDT.
The post times for the four Breeders’ Cup races after the Classic are: Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf, race 9, at 6:25 p.m.; Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint, race 10, at 7:05 p.m.; Breeders’ Cup Mile, race 11, at 7:45 p.m.; and the Breeders’ Cup Sprint, race 12, at 8:25 p.m.
Continuous coverage of all Breeders’ Cup races on Friday and Saturday will stream live on Peacock both days. Additionally, all undercard and Breeders' Cup races, except the Classic, will be shown live on FanDuel TV as part of the Breeders’ Cup Players’ Show coverage, which is also available on BreedersCup.com and mobile app, all major ADW platforms, and at simulcast facilities around the world.
The Breeders’ Cup will be distributed to more than 150 countries around the world, including live telecasts on ITV4, Sky Sports Racing and Racing TV in England and Ireland, The Green Channel in Japan, and Sportsnet in Canada.
The Breeders' Cup wagering menu will provide horseplayers with multi-race wagers featuring multimillion-dollar pools throughout the two-day program at Del Mar.

Special Daily Doubles (SPDD) on Friday consist of leg 1 on Friday and leg 2 on Saturday.
Friday’s Pick 6, Pick 5 and High 5 may carry over to Saturday.
Any Pick 5 carryover from Friday or the early Pick 5 on Saturday will carry over to the late Pick 5 on Saturday. The middle Pick 5 on Saturday will have a mandatory payout.
Special Daily Double on Saturday will be the BC Distaff as leg 1 and the BC Classic as leg 2.
